How it works and how to install it
The heat shrink tube is easy to install: cut the required length, slide it over the stripped cable, and apply heat at 90 degrees C for uniform shrinkage. Use a heat gun, lighter, or even a hairdryer set to a high temperature. A minimum 50% radial shrinkage ensures a firm grip and complete protection of the connection in less than a minute.

How much does the tube shrink after heating?
It shrinks by a minimum of 50% of its initial diameter, practically from 2.5mm down to approximately 1.25mm or smaller, adapting perfectly to cables 1-2mm thick.
Can I use a regular hairdryer for shrinking?
Yes, if the hairdryer reaches 90 degrees C on its maximum setting. For optimal and uniform results, we recommend a heat gun, but for occasional home repairs, a hairdryer works.
Is it safe to use in home electrical installations?
Absolutely. The halogen-free material does not emit toxic substances and provides reliable insulation for connections up to standard household voltages, being widely used in residential and industrial applications.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
