How it works and how to install
The thermostat uses a bimetallic strip that deforms as the temperature rises. When the temperature reaches 130°C, the strip breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power. After cooling, the contact automatically re-establishes. For installation, disconnect power, fix the thermostat to the surface to be monitored using screws through the side flanges, then connect the terminals in series with the electrical circuit. No calibration or additional settings are required.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
