How it works and how to install
The splitter receives the TV signal through a single input connector (IN) and passively distributes it to the 8 output ports (OUT) clearly labeled on the casing. Installation is simple: connect the coaxial cable from the antenna or cable outlet to the IN input, then connect the cables to each television to the OUT outputs, using standard F connectors. It does not require electrical power and contains no active components, so it does not amplify the signal — if the initial signal is weak, it is recommended to use a TV amplifier before the splitter.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
