How it works and how to install it
The M8 doorbell connects to your home's 2.4 GHz WiFi network and pairs with the Tuya or Smart Life app in a few simple steps, no technical knowledge required. The outdoor unit is USB powered and wall-mounted with the included screws — no electrical wiring or electrician needed. The indoor receiver plugs into a standard outlet, and the wireless signal travels through walls and doors to the recommended installation distance. Note: Not recommended for mounting on metal doors, as these can affect signal quality.

Can I view the camera from my phone when I'm not home?
Yes, through the Tuya or Smart Life app you have live access to the camera and capture history from any internet connection, not just your home WiFi.
Does it work at night or in the dark?
Yes, the camera is equipped with infrared illumination that ensures visibility in complete darkness.
Can I mount the doorbell on the metal door of my apartment building?
It is not recommended, as iron doors significantly attenuate the wireless signal. Mounting on the wall next to the door or on the wooden/plastic frame is the optimal option.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
