How it works and how to install it
The DM-13D ringer is directly integrated into the landline phone line: the cable coming from the wall jack is inserted into the input jack, and the landline phone is connected to the output jack. When a call comes in, the ringer detects the signal on the line and emits the alert sound, independently of the phone. It does not require a separate power supply, operating exclusively on the energy provided by the telephone line.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
