How it works and how to install
The ties work on the self-locking principle: you insert the strap through the head of the tie, pull until the desired tightness, and the internal tooth system permanently locks the strap. No tools are required for installation. They are used for tying cables together, fastening them to poles, metal bars, or other surfaces by wrapping. Once tightened, the tie cannot be opened — it must be cut to be removed.
Installation takes a few seconds: position the cables, wrap the tie around them, insert the tip through the head and pull firmly. For quick cutting after installation, use scissors or cutting pliers.

Yes, the plastic material resists moisture and extreme temperatures from -40 to +85 degrees Celsius. They are suitable for outdoor fixings, but for prolonged exposure to intense UV, variants with special UV protection are recommended.
Can they be opened after I've tightened them or are they single-use?
They are single-use — once tightened, the self-locking system does not allow opening. They must be cut for removal. This ensures the grip remains permanently secure.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
