12V dusk-to-dawn sensor for outdoor and indoor lighting automation
This 12V dusk-to-dawn light sensor automatically detects brightness levels and activates lighting fixtures at dusk, turning them off at dawn. Ideal for street lighting, pathways, yards, gardens, or stairwells, it eliminates the need for manual switching and reduces energy consumption through intelligent operation.
What you get with this product
- Complete lighting automation — bulbs and spotlights turn on and off automatically, without daily manual intervention
- Electricity bill savings — operates only when needed, while also extending the lifespan of connected bulbs
- Quick installation without a specialist — connects directly to a 12V circuit via colored wires, no special tools required
- Compatible with any 12V lighting fixture up to 120W — LED lamps, halogen bulbs, yard or garden spotlights
- Weather resistant with IP44 protection — operates stably at temperatures between -20°C and +50°C, suitable for outdoor use
- Automatic sensitivity adjustment — detection between 30 and 150 Lux ensures optimal activation time, without false triggers
How it works and how to install it
The sensor constantly monitors the ambient light level through its integrated photocell. When the brightness drops below the set threshold, the circuit automatically activates the power supply to the connected lighting fixture. When natural light returns, the sensor cuts off power after 5 seconds to 1 minute, depending on light conditions.
Installation is done by connecting the colored wires to the 12V power source and the lighting fixture, observing the indicated polarity. The metal bracket allows for quick mounting on a wall, pole, or fence. No programming or calibration is required — it works immediately after connection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does it also work with 12V solar panels?
Yes, the sensor is perfectly compatible with solar lighting systems that provide 12V DC voltage, taking automatic control of switching on and off.
How quickly does it react to changes in light?
The trigger time varies between 5 seconds and 1 minute, depending on the speed of brightness change, thus avoiding accidental activations due to temporary shade.
Can I connect multiple light bulbs to a single sensor?
Yes, you can connect any combination of 12V lighting fixtures, as long as the total consumption does not exceed 10A, which is approximately 120W total power.
