How it works and how to install it
The tape measure operates via an automatic spring system with button locking. You extend the tape to the desired length, press the central or side button to lock it, take the measurement, then release the button for automatic retraction. The magnets at the end of the tape instantly attach to any ferromagnetic surface. The belt clip attaches by simple clipping, and the wrist strap attaches to the integrated eyelet. It requires no special maintenance — just periodic cleaning of the tape with a dry cloth.

The spring system has a medium retraction speed. For additional control, you can use the side stop buttons which slow down the tape's return.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
