How it works and how to install
Before crimping the RJ45 plug, slide the protective boots onto the cable with the larger opening facing the connector. After crimping, slide the boots over the plug until they are securely in place, covering the transition area between the cable and the connector. No tools, adhesives, or cable modifications are required — the process takes a few seconds per connector.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these protectors fit larger diameter Cat6 cables?
The boots are compatible with standard Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6 cables. For Cat6 cables with thick jackets or armored cables, please check the outer diameter of the cable before ordering.
Can the boots be installed after the plug has already been crimped?
No — the boots must be slid onto the cable before crimping the RJ45 plug, as the gripping opening is smaller than the size of the crimped plug.
Does the pack only contain purple pieces, or are there multiple colors mixed?
The pack contains exclusively 100 purple pieces, with no other colors mixed in.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
