How it works and how to install
The plug uses a tilting or pressure-locking mechanism that automatically pierces the wire insulation when you close the housing. Strip the UTP cable by 2-3 cm, untwist the wire pairs, and arrange them according to the T568A or T568B scheme visually marked on the plug. Insert the wires into the dedicated channels, close the cap, and the internal mechanism makes electrical contact without the need for traditional crimping. The entire process takes less than a minute and requires no prior experience in structured cabling.
Frequently Asked Questions
How stable is the connection compared to a classically crimped plug?
For temporary use or emergency repairs, it is very good, but for permanent installations or network backbones, professionally crimped plugs are recommended, as they offer more stable long-term contact.
Can I use the plug for CAT 6A or CAT 7 cables?
It is not recommended. The plug is optimized for CAT 6 UTP and does not maintain the superior technical specifications of CAT 6A or 7, which would limit network performance.
If I arrange the wires incorrectly, can I open the plug and reconnect?
Yes, the plug is reusable several times. You can open the housing, rearrange the wires, and reconnect, but after several openings, the contacts may wear out, and the connection quality may decrease.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
