How it works and how to install it
The limit switch is mounted fixed on the frame or support structure, and the lever is positioned in the path of the moving element (door, worktable, etc.). When the moving element presses the lever, the switch trips the electrical circuit, stopping it or changing direction. Fixing is done with screws in the housing holes or with an adapted bracket. Electrical connections are made by soldering to the terminals on the back, according to your specific application diagram.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect a 220V motor directly to this limit switch?
Yes, it supports up to 5A at 250V AC, sufficient for most home automation motors. For higher loads, connect it to an intermediate relay.
Can it be mounted outdoors, on a metal gate?
The limit switch itself does not have IP protection, so it requires a protective enclosure or positioning protected from direct rain. For outdoor use, mounting in a sealed box is recommended.
How much does the lever need to be pressed to actuate the contact?
The actuation travel is a few millimeters, enough for reliable tripping without requiring strong impact. The lever automatically returns to position after release.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
