How it works and how to install it
The limit switch has 3 connection pins: COM (common), NO (normally open), and NC (normally closed). You connect the wires to the pins corresponding to the desired function — for turning on when pressed, use COM and NO; for turning off, use COM and NC. It is soldered or mechanically fixed at the point where you want detection — for example, on a cabinet door frame, on a lid, or on a movable part. When the button is pressed, the contact instantly switches the circuit. No special tools are required, just soldering or small screws.

Can I directly connect a 12V LED strip to this limit switch?
Yes, the limit switch supports 125VAC and 3A, so it works perfectly with 12V DC LED strips up to 36W. You connect the power supply through the switch.
Can it be used for a car door to turn on the interior light?
Absolutely, this is exactly the type of switch used in automotive for detecting door openings. The COM and NO pins connect to the interior light circuit.
How much does the button need to be pressed for activation?
The actuation travel is only 1mm, so a light contact is sufficient. Ideal for applications where movement is limited, such as a cabinet door or lid.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
