How it works and how to install
The 3W COB LED chip is powered directly by a DC driver with a voltage between 9V and 11V and a current of 300mA — it does not work connected directly to the mains without a driver. Installation is done by soldering onto a heatsink or screwing through the holes of the aluminum support, followed by connecting the two power wires to the marked + and - terminals. No advanced experience is required, but it is recommended to use thermal paste between the chip and the external heatsink for optimal heat transfer.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
