The 28mm 10W COB LED Chip is a compact light source with injected COB technology, offering two independent color temperatures—cool white and warm white—on the same circular module. This 2-in-1 configuration allows for the use of each channel separately or simultaneously, thus achieving adjustable neutral light. How it works and how to install it
The 28mm COB LED chip is powered at 30-32V DC with a current of 280-300mA, so it requires an LED driver compatible with these parameters—it does not connect directly to the mains. Mounting is done on an aluminum heatsink (included) using thermal paste applied to the contact surface, to prevent overheating. Connection is made via the four pads on the board, observing the marked polarity, after which the chip is ready for operation.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a separate driver for this 10W COB LED chip?
Yes, the chip operates at 30-32V DC and 280-300mA, so an LED driver with these output parameters is mandatory—it does not power directly from 220V.
Can I use only one color temperature, for example, only warm white?
Yes, the four contacts allow independent powering of each channel, so you can exclusively use the cool white channel, exclusively the warm white channel, or both simultaneously for a neutral effect.
Is thermal paste required for mounting?
Yes, the chip generates significant heat at 10W and must be mounted with thermal paste between the chip and the aluminum heatsink, otherwise the lifespan will be considerably reduced.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
