The dimmer with a 2.1mm DC plug is the quick solution for adding manual brightness control to any monochromatic LED strip powered by 12V or 24V DC. It connects directly between the power supply and the LED strip, without additional modifications to the installation. How it works and how to install it
The dimmer is connected inline on the DC cable between the power supply and the LED strip: the male connector (2.1mm DC plug) goes into the power supply, and the female connector connects to the LED strip input. No tools or electrical knowledge are required. Intensity adjustment is done by rotating the rotary knob on the dimmer body, and the output voltage remains constant — only the PWM signal that controls the strip's brightness varies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this dimmer work with any LED strip?
It is compatible with monochromatic (single color channel) LED strips powered by 12V or 24V DC. It is not compatible with RGB, RGBW strips, or strips powered by 220V AC.
What length of LED strip can I control with this dimmer?
At 12V, it supports up to 72W, and at 24V, up to 144W — equivalent to approximately 10-15 meters of standard 12V LED strip, or more at 24V.
Will the LED strip flicker when adjusted to low intensity?
The dimmer uses PWM technology which, with quality LED strips, does not produce visible flickering. In the case of more sensitive strips, a minimal effect may appear at very low intensity values.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
