2-Channel High-Low Audio Converter for Car Installations
The 2-channel high-low audio converter transforms the high-level signal from factory speakers into a low-level RCA signal, compatible with aftermarket amplifiers and subwoofers. It is the direct solution for installing an external amplifier when the original car unit does not have RCA outputs. Independent adjustment on each channel allows precise calibration of the signal level without noise or distortion.
What you get with this product
- Connect an amplifier or subwoofer to any car unit without RCA outputs — you are no longer limited by the car's original equipment
- Individual level adjustment for the left and right channels — balance the sound exactly as needed, without compromise
- Clean signal across the entire 20–20,000 Hz range — hear the entire audio spectrum without frequency cut-offs
- Robust metal casing with mounting holes — securely fastens behind the dashboard or in the trunk
- Pure copper wires with a length of 30 cm and clear color diagram — connection is simple and straightforward
- RCA outputs with gold-plated connectors — stable electrical contact and long-term oxidation resistance
How it works and how to install it
The converter takes the high-level signal directly from the speaker terminals of the original head unit via its 4 input wires (green/brown for left, gray/black for right) and transforms it into a low-level signal available at the RCA outputs. The two potentiometers on the casing allow individual adjustment of the output level for each channel. Installation is done without major modifications to the electrical system: identify the speaker wires, connect them to the converter's input, and then cable the RCA outputs to the amplifier — an operation achievable in 20–30 minutes with basic tools.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use this converter if my car does not have RCA outputs on the original unit?
Yes, this is exactly what it is designed for. It connects to the existing speaker wires and provides an RCA signal to the external amplifier.
Does alternator whine appear after connection?
Alternator whine usually occurs due to incorrect electrical grounds. Ensure that the audio unit's ground and the amplifier's ground are connected to the same body point to eliminate the ground loop.
Does it also work with active subwoofers, not just amplifiers?
Yes, the converter's RCA outputs are compatible with both active subwoofers (with built-in amplifier) and separate external amplifiers.
