DMX512 Decoder for Addressable Pixel LED Strips
The SP201E controller is a professional DMX512 decoder that allows control of addressable pixel LED strips and RGBWW strips via DMX or SPI signal. Compatible with almost all existing integrated circuits on the market, from WS2812B and SK6812 to APA102 and LPD8806, this device is the right solution for architectural, commercial, or entertainment lighting installations. It offers up to 5 parallel channels and can simultaneously control up to 1024 pixels.
What you get with this product
- Simultaneous control on 1 to 5 independent parallel channels — cover larger areas without additional controllers
- Compatible with over 30 types of LED integrated circuits, including WS2812B, SK6812, APA102, LPD6803, TM1812 — works with the strip you already have
- DMX512 decoding with automatic signal identification — no manual configuration required when connecting the DMX console
- Independent SPI mode, without a DMX console — 99 built-in dynamic effects with adjustable speed and intensity directly from the device
- Supports both addressable pixel LEDs and 5-wire RGBWW strips — a single decoder for two different types of installations
- LED display with navigation buttons for setting DMX address and parameters directly on the unit, without additional software
How it works and how to install it
The SP201E decoder connects to the power source, the DMX input signal, and the LED strips via screw terminal blocks on the sides — no special tools or advanced electrical knowledge are required. When a DMX512 signal is present, the device automatically identifies it and acts as a decoder, translating console commands into signals for each pixel. In the absence of a DMX signal, it operates autonomously in SPI mode, playing one of the 99 internally stored effects, selectable via the MENU, UP, and DOWN buttons on the casing.
Frequently asked questions
Does the SP201E work without a DMX console, as a standalone unit?
Yes, in SPI mode, the device runs autonomously with 99 pre-stored lighting effects, controllable directly from the physical buttons on the casing.
Can I connect multiple SP201E controllers in series for a longer installation?
Yes, multiple units can be linked in line via the DMX OUT signal to the DMX IN of the next decoder, synchronizing automatically.
Is it compatible with my WS2812B or SK6812 strip?
Yes, SP201E supports both types, including SK6812-RGBW, WS2813, WS2811, WS2801, and many others — the complete list of compatible chipsets is available in the technical specifications below.
