The STC002 controller fully automates indoor stair lighting through 32 independent channels, with each step lighting up and dimming in sequence upon motion detection. Suitable for residential and commercial stairs with up to 32 steps, it combines flow motion effects with the safety of a short-circuit protected circuit. The result is functional, discreet, and energy-efficient lighting.

How it works and how to install it
The controller is mounted in an accessible technical space — an electrical cabinet or under the stairs — and connects to the LED strips already installed on each step via the screw terminals of the 32 channels. The two PIR sensors are placed at the bottom and top of the stairs, detecting presence and triggering the lighting sequence in the direction of travel. Configuration of the operating mode and transition speed is done directly on the device via the setting button and the built-in numeric display, without an application or special programming.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work with 12V LED strips, not just 24V?
Yes, the STC002 controller supports both 12V DC and 24V DC, selectable depending on the power source used in your installation.
What happens if the staircase has fewer than 32 steps?
You can use only the necessary channels; the rest remain inactive. The controller functions correctly with 10, 16, or any other number of connected channels below the maximum of 32.
Are motion sensors included in the package?
Yes, the package contains two PIR sensors with cables, intended for mounting at the ends of the stairs for bidirectional motion detection.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
