How it works and how to install it
The contactor is mounted on the DIN rail in the electrical panel by simply clipping it in, without special tools. The control coil is powered at 220V, and the 3 main contacts switch the power circuit. When voltage is applied to the coil, the contacts close instantly and connect the electrical load. When the control voltage is interrupted, the contacts open automatically via an internal spring, disconnecting the protected circuit.

Can I use this contactor for a 3kW electric motor?
Yes, the 12A contactor is suitable for motors up to approximately 4kW at 380V three-phase, so a 3kW motor will operate within normal parameters.
Can it be mounted directly on the DIN rail in the panel?
Yes, the contactor has a standard 35mm DIN rail mounting system, and installation is done by simply clipping it in without additional screws.
How often can it switch without deteriorating?
The contactor is designed for high switching frequencies, withstanding thousands of on-off cycles, making it ideal for applications with frequent starts.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
