IP68 Waterproof Connector for 4 Outdoor and Underground Cables
The IP68 waterproof 4-pole electrical connector allows 4 cables with 4 wires to be connected at a single junction point, without the risk of water or dust infiltration. Made of PA66 polyamide with integrated rubber rings and a locking nut, this connector is suitable for photovoltaic installations, street lighting, underground mounting, and any electrical application in wet or weather-exposed environments. It provides a secure and durable connection where a traditional junction box is not an option.

How it works and how to install it
The connector operates on the principle of mechanical sealing: each of the 4 arms receives a cable inserted through the waterproof tube, secured with the gripping claw, and sealed with the rubber ring by tightening the locking nut. Inside, screw terminals establish electrical contact between the wires of the 4 cables. Installation does not require a specialized electrician — each arm is disassembled, stripped cables are inserted, wires are connected to the terminal, and parts are reassembled in reverse order. The entire process takes less than 20 minutes for a person with basic electrical knowledge.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
