How it works and how to install it
The capacitor connects in parallel with the auxiliary winding of the electric motor, providing the additional torque needed for starting. Installation is done by connecting the 4 male spade terminals to the motor terminals, according to the equipment's electrical diagram, then securing the casing to the support with the provided screw. For safety, always disconnect the power before installation and ensure the old capacitor is fully discharged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it compatible with my motor if my old capacitor has a different voltage rating?
If your motor operates at 220-240V and the old capacitor was 20uF, this model is compatible. The 450V voltage indicates a safety reserve, and it can replace 400V, 450V, or 500V capacitors with the same capacity.
How difficult is it to replace the start capacitor myself?
The operation takes less than 15 minutes and only requires a screwdriver. Disconnect the power, note the wire positions, connect the terminals of the new capacitor in the same configuration, and secure it to the support. No special electrician knowledge is required.
Why is my motor not starting or making a strange noise?

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
