The 4-core telephone cable is routed along walls, in cable ducts, or embedded in plaster, connecting the telephone exchange, doorbell, or intercom from the entry point to the terminal device. The 4 different colored conductors allow direct connection to equipment terminals without risk of confusion. No special tools are required — it can be cut with ordinary pliers and terminated with RJ11 plugs or directly to terminals.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
