How it works and how to install
The cable connects simply: the XLR female end is inserted into the XLR output of the amplifier or audio processor, and the Speakon male end is inserted into the Speakon input of the passive speaker until a locking click is heard. It requires no tools, soldering, or advanced technical knowledge. To disconnect, press the release tab of the Speakon connector and pull firmly.

Not directly, because the cable has a Speakon male at one end, which is specific to passive speakers with an external amplifier. To connect to an active speaker with an XLR input, an XLR male - XLR female cable is required.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
