How it works and how to install
The SMD5050 LED strip operates on 12V DC, supplied by an LED strip transformer (purchased separately, sized to the total power required). Installation does not require advanced electrical knowledge: peel off the protective film from the adhesive on the back of the strip, firmly apply it to a dry and degreased surface, then connect it to the power supply. For spaces longer than 5 meters, segments are connected with quick clip connectors, without soldering or special tools.

What transformer do I need for a 5-meter roll?
For a 5-meter roll at 24W/m, you need a transformer of at least 120W at 12V DC. A transformer with a 20% reserve is recommended, so a 150W one for continuous operation safety.
Can I use this strip in the bathroom or outdoors?
No. The IP20 rating means the strip is only protected against dust and has no moisture protection. It is intended exclusively for dry indoor spaces.
Can the light intensity be adjusted with a dimmer?
Yes, the strip is compatible with standard PWM dimmers for 12V LED strips, provided the dimmer is appropriately sized for the total power of the installation.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
