How it works and how to install it
The female UTP splitter to 2 x female adapter takes the network signal from an RJ45 cable and distributes it to two 8p-8c output ports. Connection is made by simply inserting the plugs into the adapter ports, no screws or tools required. It is important to note that a UTP splitter divides the signal into wire pairs, so it only works correctly when both ends of the installation use the same type of splitter or when used for 10/100 Mbps networks with Category 5e cables.

The UTP splitter divides the 8 wires of the cable into two separate connections, which limits each channel to 10/100 Mbps. For Gigabit, a different solution is needed, such as a network switch.
Do I need to use a splitter at the other end of the cable as well?
Yes, for correct operation in the wire splitting configuration, a compatible splitter is required at the other end of the cable as well.
Is it compatible with FTP cables and shielded outlets?
The adapter is compatible with standard UTP and FTP cables with 8p-8c RJ45 plugs, including shielded versions, as long as the plugs comply with the 8p-8c standard.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
