How it works and how to install it
The thermostat operates on the principle of thermal expansion: the bimetallic element inside interrupts the electrical circuit when the temperature reaches the set threshold, thereby protecting the appliance from overheating. Installation is not complicated — disconnect the appliance from the power outlet, replace the faulty thermostat with the new one by simply connecting the 6.3 mm spade terminals to the existing terminals, mechanically secure the component, and reassemble the appliance. Advanced electronics knowledge is not required, but it is recommended that the intervention be carried out by a person familiar with household appliance repairs.

Is this thermostat compatible with any brand of iron?
The thermostat is a generic OEM part, compatible with most irons and electric heating appliances that use the same type of 6.3 mm connectors and the same electrical parameters (10A / 250V AC). Please check the physical dimensions and the type of connector on your appliance beforehand.
At what temperature does the thermostat switch off?
The switching temperature is mechanically adjustable via the adjustment shaft (the brass shaft visible in the images), and the values marked on the internal components indicate positions between approximately 75 and 220 degrees Celsius, depending on the initial setting of the appliance in which it is installed.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
