How it works and how to install it
The thermostat uses a bimetallic strip that deforms when heated. When the temperature reaches 260°C, the strip breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power. After cooling, the strip returns to its original shape and restores the circuit. Installation is done by screwing it in using the four holes on the metal bracket, then connecting the two electrical terminals in series with the appliance to be protected. No special tools or advanced electrical knowledge are required.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
