How it works and how to install
The fuse is mounted in the fuse holder or the dedicated support of the device, ensuring electrical contact between the two metal ends. When the current exceeds 1.6A, the internal filament melts instantly, interrupting the circuit and protecting the device. Replacement is quick: disconnect the device from the mains, remove the blown fuse, and insert a new one with the same characteristics. The transparent body allows for immediate identification of a blown fuse.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
