How it works and how to install it
Installation is simple and requires no tools: before crimping the RJ45 connector, you slide the boot onto the cable with the wide end towards the free end of the wire, crimp the connector as usual, then pull the boot over the connector until it locks into place. The boot covers the junction area between the cable and the connector, reducing mechanical stress from bending and protecting the connector's locking clip.

Does the boot also fit wider Cat6 connectors?
The boot is compatible with standard RJ45 connectors for Cat5, Cat5e, and Cat6. For wider-bodied Cat6 connectors or shielded connectors, check the connector size before installation.
Should the boot be placed before or after crimping?
Mandatory before crimping — the boot is inserted onto the cable with the large opening facing the uncrimped end, and after crimping the connector, it is pulled over the connector.
Are there multiple colors or just blue in the 100-piece pack?

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
