How it works and how to install it
The 30W 12V SMD LED floodlight is powered by any 12V DC source: car battery, stationary accumulator, or the output of a solar controller. Installation does not require advanced electrical knowledge — the crocodile clips are attached to the positive and negative terminals of the source, and the floodlight is oriented using the adjustable metal bracket. The aluminum casing ensures heat dissipation and extends the lifespan of the SMD 5730 LED chips.
Frequently asked questions
Can this floodlight be connected directly to a solar panel without a battery?
It is not recommended. The floodlight requires a stable 12V voltage, provided by an accumulator or solar controller — a standalone photovoltaic panel does not offer constant voltage.
Is it rain-resistant? Can I leave it mounted outside permanently?
Yes, the IP66 protection rating means resistance to strong water jets and dust, so it can be permanently mounted outdoors.
What kind of light does it emit — warm or cool?
The floodlight emits cool white light, with a color temperature of approximately 6000K, suitable for functional and security lighting.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
