How it works and how to install it
The 50W green COB LED chip is powered directly by 220V AC through the two terminals marked L (phase) and N (neutral) on the board. It does not require a driver or voltage converter, which significantly simplifies integration into projectors, DIY fixtures, or decorative installations. For optimal operation, the chip must be mounted on a suitable 50W thermal heatsink, using thermal paste between the COB surface and the heatsink — this is the only essential condition for the correct lifespan of the module.

No. The XSY-5454 chip is designed for direct 220V AC power, with the driver integrated on the board — you connect directly to phase and neutral.
Do I need a heatsink for this LED chip?
Yes, mounting on a thermal heatsink is mandatory. At 50W dissipated power, the lack of a heatsink will lead to overheating and damage to the chip in a short time.
Can this green COB chip be used in outdoor projectors?
The chip itself does not have an IP rating — protection against moisture and dust depends on the light fixture in which it is mounted. Used in a projector with a sealed casing, it works perfectly outdoors.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
