The 50W COB LED chip with yellow light is a compact, high-power lighting source designed for direct connection to a 220V AC mains supply, without the need for an external driver. It emits a uniform spectral yellow light, predominantly around 590 nm, suitable for decorative lighting, ambient lighting, signaling, or specialized DIY lighting projects. Chip-on-Board technology ensures high luminous density in an extremely compact format.

How it works and how to install
The XSY-5454 COB LED chip connects directly to the 220V AC mains via the L (phase) and N (neutral) terminals marked on the PCB, visible on the module. It does not require a separate LED driver, as the control circuit is integrated on the board. For correct operation and optimal lifespan, the module must be mounted on a heatsink appropriate for 50W power, using thermal paste for efficient heat transfer. Mechanical mounting is done through the four mounting holes in the corners of the plate.

Do I need a separate LED driver for this chip?
No. The XSY-5454 module is designed for direct 220V AC power supply, with the driver integrated on the COB board, so it connects directly to the outlet or electrical grid.
Is a heatsink mandatory for this 50W chip?
Yes, mounting on a heatsink with thermal paste is mandatory. At 50W, without adequate heat dissipation, the module will overheat quickly and its lifespan will be significantly reduced.
Why would I choose yellow light instead of warm white light?
Spectral yellow light (~590 nm) does not attract nocturnal insects and is frequently used in outdoor garden lighting, on terraces, or in agricultural areas. It is also preferred in decorative or signaling applications where a pure yellow tone is important.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
