How it works and how to install it
The capacitance meter uses a dual-slope A/D conversion system for precise measurements. Connect the capacitor to the two Cx terminals, rotate the selector to the desired range, and read the value on the LCD display in 2-3 seconds. Before connecting, always discharge the capacitor — the device includes a warning inscription for your safety. The ZERO ADJ button allows you to calibrate to zero for maximum accuracy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I measure polarized capacitors with this device?
Yes, the device automatically detects polarity and displays the corresponding sign on the screen, so you can measure both polarized and non-polarized capacitors without worry.
What does the "1" symbol on the display mean when I take a measurement?
The "1" symbol indicates overload — the capacitor has a higher value than the selected range. Rotate the selector to the higher range to get the correct reading.
Is it necessary to discharge the capacitor before measurement?
Yes, it is mandatory. Capacitors can retain electrical charge even after disconnection from the source, and measuring without discharge can affect accuracy and damage the device.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
