How it works and how to install it
The 3W COB LED is powered by 9V DC with a current of 300mA, requiring a suitable constant voltage driver or power supply. Installation is done by soldering with thermal paste onto an aluminum heatsink to ensure proper dissipation of the heat generated during operation. The positive and negative power contacts are positioned in the diagonal corners of the square base and can be soldered or connected with appropriate clamps.

A constant current source or an LED driver providing 9V DC at 300mA is required. Do not connect directly to the mains or to variable voltage sources.
Does it necessarily need a heatsink or can it operate without one?
Yes, mounting on a heatsink with thermal paste is mandatory. Without adequate heat dissipation, the chip will quickly overheat and its lifespan will significantly decrease.
Can this LED chip be used in wet areas or outdoors?
It is not recommended for wet environments or direct exposure to weather, as the chip does not have an IP protection rating. Use it only inside properly sealed light fixtures.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
