How it works and how to install
The crystallized silicon solar panel absorbs energy during the day and stores it in the internal battery. At dusk, the light sensor automatically activates the 6 high-power LEDs, which project the characteristic beams up and down onto the wall surfaces. Installation does not require electrical knowledge: press the power button on the back of the lamp, screw two screws into the wall according to the included template, then hang the lamp on the support — the operation takes less than 15 minutes.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
