How it works and how to install
The start capacitor accumulates electrical energy and releases it instantly when the motor starts, providing the necessary impulse to overcome initial inertia. For installation, disconnect the power supply, remove the old capacitor, and connect the wires of the new capacitor to the motor terminals — the brown wire to the phase, the blue wire to the neutral. The operation takes less than 10 minutes and does not require special tools, only a screwdriver. After reconnecting the power, the motor starts immediately.
Frequently asked questions
How do I know if my capacitor is faulty and needs replacement?
If the motor hums when starting, does not start at all, or makes an unusual noise, the capacitor is probably worn out. Also check if it is visibly swollen or burnt.
Can I use this capacitor for any electric motor?
It works with most single-phase motors up to 1.5 kW that require a start capacitor. Check the recommended capacitance and voltage from the motor manufacturer before installation.
What happens if I use a capacitor with a lower voltage than required?
The capacitor can overheat, swell, or even explode. Always use a voltage equal to or higher than that specified by the equipment — this model safely supports 450V.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
