How it works and how to install it
The IRS type button with 6 contacts allows switching between 3 positions: I (ON), 0 (OFF), II (ON). Each position activates a different circuit or completely cuts off power. Installation is done by inserting the button into the prepared opening in the control panel or housing, securing it with the included nut, and connecting the cables to the 6 terminals according to the wiring diagram. The rubber protection is mounted over the button after securing it, ensuring sealing against moisture and dust.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use this button outdoors or in wet environments?
Yes, the rubber protection offers resistance to splashes and moderate humidity, making it suitable for less-than-ideal environments, but not for complete submersion.
What diameter should the mounting hole have?
Standard IRS buttons require a hole of approximately 30mm, but check the exact dimensions (30mm height x 37.8mm width) before cutting.
How do I know which position activates which circuit?
Positions I and II are both ON, but activate different terminals. The middle position 0 completely cuts off power. Follow the wiring diagram to configure the desired circuits.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
