How it works and how to install it
The built-in light sensor continuously measures ambient brightness. When it drops below 50 lux — the equivalent twilight threshold — the bulb automatically turns on; in the morning, when natural light exceeds this threshold, it turns itself off. Installation requires no electrical knowledge: simply remove the old bulb from the E27 socket and screw in the new one, at a standard mains voltage of 220-240V AC. The only thing to check is that the switch associated with the socket remains permanently in the on position, otherwise the sensor cannot function.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to leave the switch on all the time for the sensor to work?
Yes, the switch must be left permanently in the "on" position. The integrated sensor in the bulb is what controls the turning on and off based on ambient light.
Does this bulb work when mounted in an outdoor lantern during winter?
Yes, the bulb starts without problems at temperatures down to -20 degrees Celsius, so it is suitable for outdoor use throughout the winter in Romanian climatic conditions.
Can it be used in a regular room where I want to control the light manually?
It is not recommended for spaces where you want manual control, as the sensor automatically takes over the lighting command. It is designed for places where light needs to operate autonomously, such as entrances, stairwells, or courtyards.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
