The UTP and TEL network cable tester allows you to quickly identify breaks, short circuits, and incorrect connections in any network or telephone cable. Useful for both installers and home users who want to check a network connection before calling a technician. The main unit and the secondary (remote) unit work together for complete testing of each individual wire.

How it works and how to install
Connect one end of the cable to the main unit (master) and the other end to the secondary unit (remote), then turn on the device with the ON/OFF button. The numbered LEDs light up sequentially for each functional wire — if an LED does not light up, the corresponding wire is broken or faulty. In the event of a short circuit between wires, no LED lights up, a clear sign of an unwanted contact.

Can this device test Cat5e or Cat6 cables?
Yes, any UTP or FTP cable with an 8-wire RJ45 connector is compatible, including Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6a.
Is the battery included in the package?
No, the 9V battery is not included and must be purchased separately.
Can I test a cable already installed in the wall, without removing it?
Yes, that's exactly what the remote unit is for — you connect it to one end of the cable (e.g., to the network outlet) and the main unit to the other end, without moving the cable.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
