The KSD9700 95°C NC bimetallic thermostat is the essential component that automatically cuts off power when the temperature rises dangerously, protecting boilers, radiators, motors, and transformers from overheating. How it works and how to install
The thermostat contains a bimetallic blade that deforms at high temperatures. When the appliance reaches 95°C, the blade breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power. Once the temperature drops below the reset threshold, the contact is automatically re-established, and the equipment can operate again. For installation, connect the two wires in series on the appliance's power circuit, fix the thermostat to the surface to be monitored with a clamp or thermal adhesive, and check continuity with a multimeter. It does not require programming or calibration.

Does it reset itself after triggering?
Yes, it is an automatic reset thermostat. When the temperature drops below approximately 65-75°C, the contact closes again, and the equipment returns to normal operation.
Can I use it for a 3000W 220V boiler?
Yes, with a capacity of 16A at 250V, it supports up to 4000W at 220V, so a 3000W boiler is within safe operating parameters.
How accurate is the trigger temperature?
The thermostat triggers at 95°C ±5°C, so the effective range is 90-100°C, which is accurate enough for standard thermal protection of electrical equipment.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
