How it works and how to install it
The thermostat operates by the thermal expansion of the liquid in the stainless steel capillary — when the temperature rises to the value set by the knob, the electrical contacts automatically open and cut off power. Upon cooling below the set threshold, the circuit closes, and heating resumes. Installation requires mounting the thermostat body on the control panel, inserting the capillary probe into the heating chamber, and connecting the two wires to the oven's electrical circuit. It is recommended that connections be checked by a qualified electrician.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
