Short Rod Boiler Thermostat with Overheat Protection
The short rod boiler thermostat controls and protects the electric heating element in domestic hot water boilers, automatically cutting off power when the set temperature is reached. Compatible with most electric boilers sold on the Romanian market, it is installed directly into the heating element's sheath and allows water temperature adjustment between 10°C and 80°C. This is the suitable solution for replacing a faulty thermostat or for a new installation.

How it works and how to install
The thermostat is inserted into the heating element's sheath, and the heating element's power supply voltage first passes through the thermostat — which decides, based on the set temperature, whether to power or cut off the heating element. The electrical connection is made via two screw terminals for power supply and through the 6.3 mm male spade terminals that connect directly to the heating element's female terminals. Installation is recommended to be carried out by an authorized electrician, who will check the polarity and supply voltage before commissioning.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction.
