How it works and how to install it
The bimetal thermostat contains a metal blade that expands as the temperature rises. Upon reaching the 180°C threshold, the blade automatically breaks the electrical contact, cutting off power to the appliance. After the temperature drops below the limit, the contact is restored, and the appliance resumes operation. Installation is done by screwing the metal flange onto the appliance casing and connecting the two terminals in series with the electrical power circuit. No calibration or additional adjustments are required.

Can it be manually reset after it trips?
No, it's not necessary. The thermostat resets automatically once the temperature drops approximately 10-15°C below the 180°C threshold.
Does it also work at voltages lower than 250V?

How precise is the cut-off threshold?
The precision is approximately +/-5°C from the nominal temperature of 180°C, sufficient for most domestic and industrial applications.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
