The splitter receives the TV signal through a single input port (IN) and passively distributes it to the 6 output ports (OUT) via standard F-type connectors. Installation involves connecting the main coaxial cable to the input and the cables to each television at the outputs — it does not require electrical power and no advanced technical knowledge is needed. Important to note: this splitter does NOT amplify the signal, so it is recommended only where the input signal is strong enough to support distribution to all televisions.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
