How it works and how to install it
The thermal fuse works on the principle of interrupting the electrical circuit when the temperature reaches 98°C. It is constructed from heat-sensitive materials, encapsulated in a protective metal tube. When the temperature threshold is exceeded, the internal element deforms or melts, breaking the electrical connection and cutting power to the appliance.
Installation requires disconnecting the appliance from the mains, identifying the faulty thermal fuse, undoing the old electrical connections, and connecting the new fuse, observing polarity. The operation is performed by soldering or using connectors, depending on the appliance type. We recommend checking by a person with basic electronics knowledge or an authorized technician.

The appliance no longer heats up at all even though it is connected to the mains and other components are working. Testing with a multimeter in continuity mode confirms the circuit interruption.

Yes, provided the appliance draws a maximum of 10A and requires thermal protection at 98°C. Check the operating temperature specified on the original fuse.
Is the fuse resettable or single-use?

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
