This miniaturized PIR sensor automatically detects motion and turns on LED lighting only when needed, reducing energy consumption by up to 80%. How it works and how to install it
The PIR sensor detects infrared radiation emitted by the human body in the coverage area. When it detects motion in dark conditions, it automatically turns on the connected lighting and keeps it on for approximately 15 seconds after the last detected motion. Installation is done by connecting the two long wires to the 12-24V DC power source and the two short wires to the LED luminaire. It does not require additional programming or adjustments.
Frequently asked questions
Does the sensor also work during the day, when there is natural light?
No, the integrated photocell activates the sensor only in dark conditions, so during the day the lighting will not turn on with motion.
How long does the lighting stay on after I pass by the sensor?
The light stays on for approximately 15 seconds after the last detected motion, then turns off automatically.
Can I connect this sensor to any 12V or 24V LED strip?
Yes, the sensor works with any 12-24V DC powered LED lighting, within the maximum power limit of 60W at 12V or 100W at 24V.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
