How it works and how to install it
The heating element is directly powered at 220V via spade connectors and heats the water in the washing machine drum through its two 155mm immersion loops. Installation requires disconnecting the machine from the power supply, draining the water, removing the front or rear panel, and replacing the faulty heating element by detaching the fixing flanges. Connection is made with screw terminals, without welding or specialized tools. You check the seal with the included gasket and test operation with a short program.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
