How it works and how to install
CUT connectors integrate cutting blades inside the capsule that activate automatically upon crimping. After stripping the CAT 8 S/FTP cable and arranging the pairs according to the T568A or T568B standard, insert the cable into the connector until it stops, visually check the correct positioning, then crimp with a special CUT crimping tool. During crimping, the blades cut the excess wires, the contacts penetrate the conductors, and the metal shielding automatically connects to the cable shield — all in one operation.
The process requires a special crimping tool for CUT connectors and certified CAT 8 S/FTP cable (diameter 7.0-8.5mm). After crimping, testing with a Level 3 network analyzer (DSX or similar) is mandatory to certify CAT 8 parameters. Each correctly terminated connection guarantees 25G/40G Ethernet speeds and frequencies up to 2 GHz throughout the life of the installation.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these connectors with a regular crimping tool for standard RJ45?
No, CUT connectors absolutely require a special crimping tool designed for automatic cutting technology. Standard pass-through connector tools do not correctly activate the cutting blades and do not guarantee CAT 8 electrical parameters.
Do they work with any network cable or must it be CAT 8?
These connectors are exclusively optimized for CAT 8 S/FTP cable with a diameter of 7.0-8.5mm. Using them with CAT 6 or CAT 7 compromises both shielding and mechanical parameters, resulting in unreliable connections and low performance.
How difficult is it to achieve a certified connection on the first try?
With proper preparation and an adequate tool, the success rate exceeds 95%. The key is precise cable stripping (without damaging the shield), arranging the pairs without unraveling the original geometry, and full insertion into the connector until it visibly stops.
