How it works and how to install it
The RJ45 CAT 7 S/FTP CUT connector is crimped with a standard crimping tool compatible with CUT connectors — the cable wire is inserted through the front guiding channel, the wires are aligned according to the wiring scheme (T568A or T568B), then crimping presses the contacts and automatically cuts off the excess conductors. The metallic shielding of the connector connects directly to the aluminum foil of the S/FTP cable, ensuring continuity of the shielding along the entire length of the connection. No advanced experience is required — the process takes less than 2 minutes per connector once the cable is prepared.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these connectors also work with CAT 6 or CAT 6A cables?
The connectors are specifically designed for CAT 7 S/FTP cables with thicker conductors and individual insulation on pairs; use on CAT 6 or CAT 6A is not recommended because the dimensions of the guiding channels differ, and the contact will not be secure.
Do I need a special crimping tool, or can I use any RJ45 crimper?
It is necessary to use a crimping tool compatible with CUT-type connectors (pass-through or cut-type) — a standard crimper for classic RJ45 connectors might work, but a dedicated CUT crimper ensures correct cutting of excess wires and uniform crimping of all contacts.
Does the connector shielding automatically connect to the cable, or do I need to do something extra?
Upon crimping, the metallic housing of the connector makes contact with the outer shielding of the S/FTP cable; it is important to strip the cable jacket to the correct length and not cut the shielding foil before insertion into the connector to ensure shielding continuity.
