How it works and how to install it
The limit switch activates when the flexible steel lever comes into contact with the moving part of the system — the spring bends and triggers the switching of internal contacts. Mount the device on a fixed surface using the two 4 mm mounting holes, then connect the wires to the appropriate terminals for the desired configuration. The 90 mm flexible lever path allows for object detection in any direction, and sensitivity is adjusted by the mounting position.

Inspired to create a chair where the back and arms are moulded from a single piece of plywood, Hecht and Colin describe employing a process similar to that a tailor might use to cut a pattern in fabric. This approach resulted in the beautiful structure wherein the moulded back and arms component is supported by a simple A-frame wood dowel construction. One of the benefits of this design is an increase in comfort due to natural movement in the plywood back.
